Please Note: Our door reed switches are NC (Normally Closed). Please verify your requirements before ordering:
- NC (Normally Closed): When the magnet is close to the sensor, the circuit is complete (current flows / light ON).
- Open: When the magnet is separated from the sensor, the circuit is broken (current stops / light OFF).
Installation Instructions
For optimal performance, follow these installation guidelines for door and window magnets:
- Positioning: Install the permanent magnet on the moving part (door leaf/window) and the switch unit on the fixed frame or floor.
- Alignment: Ensure that the switch and magnet are aligned as precisely as possible. Significant deviation will move the contact out of the optimal magnetic field range, reducing the switching distance.
- Troubleshooting: If the alignment is poor, the switch may fail to detect the magnetic field, leading to malfunctions. We recommend marking and pre-positioning the components before drilling.
- Interference: Keep the magnetic contact away from external magnetic interference sources, such as transformers. Failure to do so may alter the operating characteristics and cause false triggering.
Note: This contact is ideally suited for roller shutters, garage doors, or industrial sliding gates.
