Programmable Unicable antenna sockets with protection circuit
With the DUR-line ® and JAP3xxTRS series, antenna sockets are available for the first time, enabling trouble-free operation of subscriber-controlled single-cable converters, even for multi-apartment installations. Even for very long strands cans with different Auskoppeldämpfungen and a real, internally terminated Enddose are available.
These special doses analyze the control commands of the connected satellite receivers and compare them with authorizations stored in the box. Control commands only pass through the socket if they are allowed at this connection.

The problem
It is important for subscriber-controlled single-cable systems that each receiver identification number (user band ID) is assigned only once per derivation. In multi-apartment installations, however, it can easily (for example in a tenant change) come to double awards. This disturbs the transmissions of other receivers.

The solution
Are special antenna sockets that analyze the control commands of the connected receivers in real time. The commands only pass the can if there are commands authorized for that can. This prevents misconfigured receivers from interfering with other receivers in the distribution network. The authorizations are stored in the cans by the installer using the programming adapter.

Installation
The antenna socket is initially selected based on the necessary coupling loss. When delivered, all receive bands are enabled. The installer specifies the bands approved for the respective antenna socket (ideally the lowest frequency bands on the socket with the longest lead). The authorization is stored in the box with a PC / notebook and the programming adapter. The box can be programmed before installation or when installed. Any one or more tapes can be released independently for each can, but all tapes can also be disabled. The stored authorizations can also be read again with the programming adapter. The antenna sockets can be operated with control commands according to EN50494 as well as with the extended range of functions of JESS.

Function of the protection circuit
The antenna sockets contain protective mechanisms so that only control commands permissible at the respective receiving location reach the distribution network. Thereby u.a. checked the user band IDs. Basically, the doses block a continuous voltage of greater than 15 V and a 22 kHz continuous tone. In addition, only control commands for user bands are left in the distribution network for which an authorization has been stored. All control commands that could affect other user bands are blocked. When delivered, all user bands are allowed.

Suitable programming adapter
To configure the programmable antenna sockets of the DUR-line ® series, the programming adapter article no. 65009 used. The adapter establishes the connection between the USB port of a PC or notebook and the DUR-line ® antenna socket. The authorizations intended for the respective connection are defined by means of the PC software "AnDoKon.exe" and stored in the box with the programming adapter. Similarly, stored authorizations can be read out of the box. Please note that the configuration program requires a Microsoft operating system from Windows XP and an installation of the .NET Framework from version 4.0 (can be downloaded for free from Microsoft).
