What types of surveillance cameras are there?
There are fundamentally different techniques for surveillance cameras.
The first example is Analog HD. Analog HD devices are practical in that they can be easily connected to a recorder with a cable and create a stable point-to-point connection. In this way, a constant and hardly disturbing signal can be transmitted.
TVI or "Transport Video Interface" is also an analog transmission of high-resolution or HD videos. HD-TVI cameras record videos from 2 megapixels to 4K and use coaxial cables for data transmission (source cambuy.de).
HDCVI, which stands for High Definition Composite Video Interface, is a digital image transmission technology that enables the transmission of videos with a resolution of HD. Full HD up to 4K. The advantage here is the high image quality and low latency. The range is usually around 600 meters (source: dahuasecurity.com).
IP (“Internet Protocol”) technology describes data transmission over the network. Nowadays this is the most common type of surveillance camera (source: aptex.ch).
